When it comes to gardening, we’re all about making the very best use of all space available…especially when there’s hardly any space to be playing with! That’s why we simply had to share with you this amazing tutorial for creating a vertical planter, which is so incredibly space-saving you could even use it on a small balcony! Best of all, pretty much all of the hard work is done on your behalf as the main piece of the planter is nothing more than an upcycled wooden pallet!
Simply by adding a splash of paint, a few strips of wire and the pots of your choosing, you’ll be able to transform any old pallet into an amazing multi-level planter in which to grow the blooms and blossoms of your choosing! It’s incredibly easy to make and will cost you next to nothing at all, yet the result is one that’s nothing short of mind-blowing!
Materials You’ll Need
- At least 1 wooden pallet
- As many pots as you have plants/seeds
- Potting soil
- Metal wire (i used 100lb wire)
- Wire cutters
- 4 wood screws
- Outdoor paint in your favorite color
- Paint brush or small roller
You can pretty much work out from the pictures alone how the thing is put together, but we recommend checking out the full tutorial to give you a better insight into how it works. You can of course get the kids to help you with the fun parts – the painting and planting process being the kinds of messy and dirty jobs the kids are bound to love!
So if you’re already struggling for space in your garden, try adding a couple of these and see just how big of a difference they can make!
