Materials You Need:

  • 3” and 6” birch logs
  • 6” and 9” zinc-coated lag screws
  • Brackets and Deck Screws
  • Chainsaw, drill
  • 1 ¼” Drill Bit and extra long ¼” Bit

You can start off by cutting the birch logs into 18” segments for the chair and you can even use longer sections if you happen to have more wood lying around. This will basically determine the width of your lounger, so choose accordingly. Now lay out a pattern on the floor and set your logs accordingly.

From here, it is time to screw the logs together, check out the form and the stability of the chair and plan any minor adjustments before finishing the super-cool lounger. Throw in a few steel brackets and deck screws to strengthen it all and you are good to rock a unique and custom lounger as you take in the charm of spring and summer while lazing on your patio or poolside deck!
