Hand-shape rectangular clay blocks in varying lengths (1½–3 inches long, about ½ inch thick). Don’t aim for perfection — slight bends and uneven edges add character. Pierce a hole horizontally through each piece before drying and allow a full 48 hours to harden completely. Lightly sand for softness but keep the raw texture visible. Paint matte white or leave natural clay tone. String onto thick rope, spacing pieces closely for that stacked effect. Finish with simple tassels or leave ends raw for a minimalist vibe. It’s bold without trying too hard — and that’s the sweet spot.
